Michael Binger Takes Down $3,250 Pot Limit Omaha Event at Aussie Millions
Event # 12 of the 2009 Aussie Millions was festive as 42 of the toughest poker players in the world forked over the $3,250 buy-in to join the Pot-Limit Omaha w/ Rebuys tournament. A staggering 87 rebuys pumped up the pot as poker professionals strategized in an attempt to grab the championship ring. In the end, Michael Binger beat back online phenom Josh “JJProdigy” Field to win the top prize of AUD $123,840.

One of the most recognizable images for any local poker player today is the logo of The Metro Card Club. To most, it signifies integrity and reliability when it comes to poker tournaments and cash games. When the Metro Logo is on a tournament poster, players know for a fact that it is guaranteed to be a good poker tournament. Judge in Pennsylvania Deems that Poker is a Skill Game
Here’s one victory for us poker folks who are forced to tangle with so many legal issues just to enjoy the sport we love. In a decision handed by one very smart judge from Eastern Pennsylvania, poker has now been officially declared (at least in his courtroom) as NOT a game of luck. Instead, he goes on to state that poker is a game of skill—something we’ve been harping about since time immemorial.

David Steicke Wins 2009 Aussie Millions NLHE High Rollers Event
With a staggering AUD $100,000 buy-in, Event # 8 at the 2009 Aussie Millions attracted the who’s who of the poker world. A total of 23 players entered the event, including luminaries such as Phil Ivey, Tony G, John Juanda, JC Tran, Chris Ferguson, Erik Seidel, Patrik Antonius and Gus Hansen. In the end, it was Hong Kong commodities trader David Steicke who came out on top of a very tough field to win the $1.2 million top prize.
