Phil Ivey wins Seventh Bracelet at Event #25 of 2009 WSOP
Once again, Phil Ivey has proven that he is one of the best poker players in the world today. On Event #25 of the 2009 World Series of Poker, the $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo, Phil Ivey beat back strong competition defying the odds as he came back from being one of the short stacks. For his feat, Ivey won $220,538 and a S\seventh bracelet.

Dwan Recovers at “durrr Challenge” by Booking Massive Win
Patrik Antonius and Tom “durrr” Dwan met online for 786 hands of fast-paced $200/400 pot-limit Omaha action. After two and a half hours, Dwan has almost erased Antonius’ $400,000 lead in the “durrr Challenge” by picking up $376,000. After 16,124 hands of the required 50k, Antonius now only holds a slim $34,594 lead.
Cash Game Tips
There’s a lot of money to be won in cash or ring games but a lot of players are more uses to playing tournaments. Maybe it’s because of the prestige a tournament player gets when they win the big one. Still, variance at tournaments is quite high so if you want to be a profitable poker professional, cash games is the way to go.
Lisa Hamilton Takes Ladies Trophy at 2009 WSOP
A much-awaited event, the 2009 World Series of Poker $1,000 Ladies World Championship attracted 146 players. After two days of strong poker and a competitive final table, it was Lisa Hamilton, a cash game player, who emerged victorious grabbing the coveted gold bracelet and $195,390 in cold cash.

Metro Mid Year Special Wraps up 1st week

The Metro Mid year special completed it’s first successful week for the month of June, with players flocking in record numbers to The Metro Card Club and playing some of the best tournament poker we’ve seen so far.
What to do when you’re running bad
A month or so ago, I lost an insane amount of money playing cards. I was running so bad that I lost with Pocket Kings twice in one game. I played the next day and I lost to Pocket Kings again. I couldn’t win no matter what cards I held. I was being consistently outdrawn.
Lunkin Wins 2nd WSOP Bracelet at $40,000 No-Limit Hold’em Event #2
The hugest buy-in Texas Hold’em event at the World Series of Poker always attracts the biggest names in poker. In the end, Vitaly Lunkin outlasted Isaac Haxton in heads-up play to win his second WSOP bracelet at Event #2, $40,000 No-Limit Hold’em and a staggering $1,891,012. Lunkin’s first WSOP win was in last year’s $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event.
