Kirby Te Eliminated in 8th Place (US $26,600)
The only Filipino in the final table was eliminated through a big hand that cost him 90% of his chips and then being forced to go all-in with Qh-5h vs A-T, with A-T making a full house.
The big hand came when Terrence Chan raised Pre-flop and Kirby called. The flop was Kc-7d-9d. Terrence bet, Kirby Raised, and Terrence went all-in, which Kibry quickly called with Bottom set, showing pocket 7′s. Terrence showed his big draw with Qd-Jd. With the crowd rooting for Kibry shouting “Pair the board!”, a heartbreaking 10 of diamonds came on the turn, giving Terrence a flush.

It is now the final table here at the PAGCOR Chairman’s Cup!
The chip leader is Choon Lim. He currently has 1,886,000 in chips. Terrence Chan, Pokerstars Pro player, is also in the final 9.
The Philippines, meanwhile, will be represented by Kirby Te. Kirby came into Day 3 with a small stack but woke up with aces against kings twice to give his chip stack a big surge. Kirby is a familiar face in local final tables where he has placed ITM and “over 1M in the Filipino Poker TOUR”.

We love this game because here we get to test out our mind reading skills, feel the surge of adrenaline, make obi wan kenobi proud with your jedi mind tricks, all in one hand. No all-star game, but still a lot of fun
In a game whose crème de la crème is in constant flux, the cast of characters on the National Heads-Up Poker Championship remains mostly the same. Each year, the event seems to move a little further away from the all-star game it was once hailed as and the championship it claims to be and a little closer to pure spectacle. Invitations seem measured more by celebrity than skill or results and when you throw in more than 10 percent of the field being composed by qualifiers, it’s hard to regard this as little more than P.T. Barnum’s version of professional poker. It’s still fun to speculate about though, isn’t it?

One Legged Race
Huck Seed once boasted to Howard Lederer that he was a shoo-in to beat him in a 50-yard dash… hopping only on one foot. With $5,000 on the line, Lederer took him up on the offer and the two men hit the track. After watching Lederer execute a preliminary “run,” it became glaringly apparent to Seed that he was on the losing end of this wager, and he promptly paid off the five grand.
