Kathy Liebert is one of the most successful female players of all time. She’s also one of the best NL tournament players currently on the pro circuit. She’s proven her skills at the table especially in the Game Show Network’s series The Battle of the Sexes. She beat out every male and female contestant to win $100,000 first place prize which finally got her some well-deserved recognition. During her career, Kathy has won over $2.5 million of the tournament circuit which ranks her in the top 40 all time in tournament earnings.

Isildur1

The funny thing about Isildur1 is that nobody knows who he really is. Regardless of everything though, we can confidently state that Isildur1 was the best thing that happened to online poker in 2009. Bursting onto the nosebleed stakes scene in November, Isildur1 caught the majority of Full Tilt’s high stakes regulars off-guard. He took on Tom Dwan several times and fleeced him pretty well every time. By the end of the slaughter that the Dwan v Isildur1 series of heads up matches had become, the mystery Swede was more than $4 million up on the New Jersey Wonderkid. He did manage to take some dough off Ivey too, but he didn’t fare so well against Patrik Antonius, who kept using him as an ATM.

Quick Fix: A Winning SNG Strategy in 5 Minutes

Someone once said that he could teach a monkey to become a winning sit-and-go player. Although that might be an exaggeration, sit-and-gos are probably the easiest poker variation to learn. Here’s a 5 minute lesson on a winning strategy.

The Top 10 Things Every Low Limit Poker Player Should Know (part 1 of 3)

Whenever someone asks me what the differences are in a $200 buy-in game compared to a $2,000 buy-in game, I typically give the answer, “the color of the chips?” The reason I say this is, well, mostly because it’s kind of funny, but it does have a semblance of truth, since you will find good and bad poker players at just about every level.

Trishelle Cannatella Wins Trash Talk Championships

The name Trash Talk Championship may lead you to believe that poker at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas was down and dirt Saturday afternoon, but in reality it was all smiles, fun, and money for a good cause as celebrities and poker pros alike took part in the charity poker event. The $1,000 + $70 event drew more than 60 participants and helped to raise money for the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Should You Dabble or Specialize?

Every once in a while the age old debate resurfaces. The camps are as evenly distributed as any I’ve seen or heard of. It seems as though, almost exactly, half of the players I’ve talked with believe that you should specialize in one particular variety of poker in order to maximize your profit potential. The other half of players believe very firmly in the opposite strategy, they feel you’d be better off learning and becoming proficient in several forms of poker.

It’s a Tip, Not a Handout

When visiting Las Vegas, the culture of tipping can be pretty overwhelming, especially to those visiting from other countries. Tip someone for holding the door open, tip the dealer, tip room service, tip the lovely dancer. You need to have a pocket full of one dollar bills to go anywhere in the city. Sometimes it seems like too much, but as long as you understand how things work going in, you just deal with it and enjoy your day.

Vince Van Patten

The terms “celebrity” and “star” get tossed around pretty loosely in the entertainment world. Anyone who’s made an appearance on television or made the news for any reason suddenly gets labeled a celebrity. Not so in the case of Vince Van Patten. Those terms couldn’t be more fitting for the man who was almost literally born into stardom and has shone brightly in various areas of entertainment including acting, tennis and as a commentator for the World Poker Tour. Van Patten was born in 1957 in Bellrose, N.Y., the son of actor Dick Van Patten and his wife Pat. He has two older brothers, James and Nels, and all three of them grew up in the thick of the entertainment business.
