Kolosov Leads as EPT Season 8 Underway in Tallinn
November 24, 2011
The PokerStar.com European Poker Tour has touched down in Tallinn for the first stop on its Season 8 schedule.
24-year-old Russian Maksim Kolosov leads in Tallinn.
Day 1A of the season’s first event played out in Estonia’s capital today and it attracted 92 players, all of whom contributed their €4,000 buy-in to the prize pool.
Just 19 players were eliminated today, with Maksim Kolosov of Russia faring best among the 73 who remain.
The 24-year-old Kolosov was the only player to break the 100,000 chip mark today and will headline a leaderboard that includes notable pros Roberto Romanello, Martin Jacobsen and Praz Bansi.
Tomorrow will see the second and final Day 1 heat play out and while more players than today are expected, it seems unlikely the field will come close to the 420 who turned up for this event last season.
Among the known pros who took to the felt this afternoon were 2011 WSOP bracelet winner Joe Ebanks and former EPT main event winners Rupert Elder, Kent Lundmark, Arnaud Mattern and David Vamplew.
All of these players successfully advanced to Day 2.
Here are the top ten chip counts from Day 1A of the EPT Tallinn main event:
1. Maksim Kolosov 102,725
