Ramdin Leads, Hachem Threatens at The Big Event
April 26, 2011
Victor Ramdin continues to dominate The Big Event at The Bicycle Casino now down to just 22 players.
Joe Hachem is among those close at The Big Event at The Bicycle Casino.
The 56-player money bubble cracked early on Day 3 Tuesday as the field was whittled down from 68 to beyond the final three tables.
Ramdin started the day with a 2:1 chip lead over anyone close to him, and although he still leads, he does so by a much slimmer margin heading into Wednesday’s playdown to the final eight.
Online poker star Alex Kamberis, NAPT Las Vegas finalist David Parades and 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Hachem all sit in the top ten and within striking distance.
Despite PokerStars and the North American Poker Tour pulling its branding at the 11th hour, The Big Event at The Bicycle Casino still drew 417 players over two starting days in Los Angeles this weekend.
A $1,921,327 prize pool was created with $500,000 reserved for first.
The tournament will run through Mar. 10.
