Swede Lundmark Grabs EPT Barcelona Glory

Swede Kent Lundmark won the PokerStars EPT Barcelona main event this weekend – the largest tournament ever held in Spain.

The 22-year-old from Stockholm, whose previous career highlights included a runner-up finish at Nordic Masters of Poker for $69,911 and a 29th-place finish in the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for $66,000, collected €825,000 for the win.

“It’s an amazing feeling,” he said. “This is one of the biggest tournaments you can win in poker. I’ve been running good all tournament, I was very lucky.”

The €5,300 buy-in event drew a record field of 758 players to the new annex at Casino Barcelona including 180 who won their seats online.

While the event drew some of poker’s biggest stars, the final table was filled with relatively unknown players.
Next up on Season 7 of the PokerStars EPT is the €5,300 EPT Prague Dec. 13-18.
