Hernan Villa outlasts Dennis Reyes to win the 2017 Metro Walk to a Million

When Dennis Reyes got crippled chasing a straight draw a few hands prior, his stack was once again dwarfed by Hernan Villa’s. About an hour into Heads-Up action, Reyes shoved his remaining stack of less than 1M and got duty-called by Villa.

Reyes showed 6h6s while Villa revealed his Kh3c.

Villa took the lead for good when the flop came: KdTc4c and the turn of 9h and the river of 5s gave Villa the championship and PhP341K.

Reyes took second place for PhP175K.

Villa now joins Trifie Montebon, Ryan Malangin and iconic Lester Edoc in the champions’ roster of this prestigious annual tilt.

Congratulations to all who participated in the Metro Walk to a Million and we will see you at The Metro for the Metro 2M gtd tournament this coming August!

Abundo crashes in 6th from Villa’s runner-runner

With his stack down to less than 10 BBs, Andy Abundo put all his chips in the middle of the table in MP while chip-leader Hernan Villa made a duty call from the BB.

Abundo showed A2h while Villa had Qh4c.

The flop gave Abundo a hit: Jd8c2c but then a scare card arrived on the turn as a Tc appeared. With more outs, Villa’s camp cheered for all of them and it came on the river when a 9c appeared; giving Villa a runner-runner straight for the second time in the Final Table.

Abundo pocketed PhP32K while Villa used up another of his remaining lives to stay in the hunt with only five players remaining.

Blinds are now 50K/100K/10K antes.
