‘DFish’ Wins $81,000 at Full Tilt $1K Monday

April 29, 2009

Full Tilt $1K Monday is proving to be very popular among the online poker community. In the last session, 324 poker players forked over the grand to take a shot at $81,000 in first place prize money. In the end, it was Darryll ‘DFish’ Fish who emerged on top

At the start of the final table, it was David “Bussa Buss” Baker who was set to dominate the table with 584,321 in chops. His nearest opponent was losebigpots with 208,608. DFish was in third with 164,307 in chips. Grayson “The_Dean221” Nichols was bringing up the rear with 89,223.

Baker was chip lead and he immediately attempted to dominate the table. Xerok420 was the first one to go courtesy of Baker when the former went all-in on the button with 10c-8d. Baker called with Qc-Js. The board was no help to xerok420 and he ended up in ninth place for $6,480. Bryan “Squirrely1” Sapp was the next one to go when he lost on a coinflip to Baker. Sapp shoved with pocket eights and was called by Baker with Q-10. Baker hit a Queen on the flop and Sapp was sent home in eighth place with $8,100.

Losebigpots got into the action by eliminating Steve “StevoL_7” Leonard soon after. During their face-off, Losebigpots was holding Ac-4h and Leonard was holding 10s-7s. The board was 7d-Ah-8h-5d-Qh giving Losebigpots the pot. Leonard pocketed $10,530 for seventh place. Losebigpots then eliminated Ronald “ronaldgrauer” Grauer at the 5,000/10,000/1,000 level. Grauer was sent to the rail in sixth place with $16,200.

Fish finally went to work by pushing all his chips in on the button with Ah-6s. Holdi12 called with 10c-9c. The board ran out 7s-4d-Qc-5s-3h giving Fish the win and holdi12 $22,680 for fifth place. Grayson, “The_Dean221” Nichols was eliminated next when he pushed all-in with Ac-10c. Baker called with Kd-Jh and hit a King on the flop. Nichols won $29,970 for fourth place.

Baker’s winning ways were about to end when he raised 38,000 and was re-raised by Fish who pushed his remaining 483,237 chips. Baker called with his pocket 10s and was way ahead of Fish who was holding pocket fives. Unfortunately for Baker, Fish hits a set on the flop, leaving Baker with less than a big blind. Soon after, Baker bowed out in third place for $33,880.

Heads up play was anticlimactic as Fish finished off Losebigpots in one hand. In the end, it was Losebigpots with pockets 8s versus Fish’s pocket 10s. The board rolled out 9h-9s-2s-5s-2h and Losebigpots had to settle for $51,840 for his runner-up finish.
