Day 1B Wraps Up, Day 2 starts with 85 players
March 14, 2009

An action packed Day 1B started with 165 players yesterday, making the total number of players at 333, another record-breaking milestone for The Metro, and for Philippine poker. It is so far the biggest turnout for ANY local poker tournament ever.
Day 1B turned out to be more star-studded than day 1A, the field being with APT and FPT champion Neil Arce, FPT champ Josua Rivera, and WSOP bracelet holder Isaac Galazan to name few. World champion Pool professionals Alex Pagulayan and Dennis Orcollo also played for a shot at the 10 million peso prize pool.
The action on this day was surely more intense, judging by the huge chip stacks at the end of the day. There are more players with 6 figure stacks as compared to day 1A. Notable players still in the running are FPT champ Josua Rivera, Pool champ Dennis Orcollo, Melvin “the miracle” Matibag, 3-time FPT final tablist Jun Amito, and WSOP bracelet holder Isaac Galazan. Play resumes today with 85 players and the blinds rolled back to 1k/2k to allow for more poker play. Day 2 will be played down to final table.
See you at The Metro!
