It’s going to be another high octane day at the Metro Card Club with 189 players returning to the battlefield after surviving the initial onslaught of the starting rounds. The RVS CUP Philippine Poker Championship 2017 – the Metro’s biggest event of the year – charged up an incredible 1,176 entries, filling the room in all directions for the past four days. Out of that huge draw, 14 were regional qualifiers from the Metro Davao dugout.

Today will see the 5 Million Guaranteed prize pool slowly picked off with 125 players earning a piece of that sweet and juicy pie. The eventual winner of course will be seizing the biggest portion of PHP1,500.000.

One of the players looking to take that down is Frederick Leano who topped the competition in Day 1B with his massive artillery of 373,700. This also tagged him as Day 2’s entering chip leader.

Other players within range of the leader are Rebel Magdagasang with 351,800, Rodion Acosta with 350,400, Jerick Medina with 319,700 and to round out the top five is local pro Mike Takayama with 301,300.

Day 2 will also see the three past RVS CUP champions, Lester Edoc, Richard Marquez, and reigning champion Anacleto Quijano all get cracking to bag that second title.

Action kicks off today at 3pm. Players will be happy to know there is a rollback to Level 15 with blinds at 2000-4000 ante 500. Since this is Day 2, levels have been padded up to 40 minutes; players will be on the felt for 12 rounds (end of level 26) or to the final table, depending on which comes first.

Good luck to all!
