The Metro Card Club 2 Million Guaranteed Main Event drew in another big field with Day 1B attracting 149 entries. Many notable Filipino players stepped up to the challenge; among the 18 survivors were John Tech, Alexis Lim, Euryd Rivera, and WSOP bracelet winner, Mike Takayama.

While Tech closed the day in second position sporting an enviable stack of 221,100, the main spotlight fell on another. Filipino player Jasper Salonga David commanded the day with a towering 328,500, more than 100k Tech’s stack. To further define how large that was, David’s stack was equivalent to an astounding 22 starting stacks.

This was a strong showing for David who has previously produced deep runs in various Main Events held in the country since last year (per Hendon Mob). While the money is still another elimination stage away, David’s progress is certainly one to keep tabs on. He now sets the bar very high for the next starting flight.
