The games have certainly begun at the Metro WALK TO A MILLION with a packed room of 163 entries kicking off Day 1A at the Metro Card Club in Pasig City, Philippines.

Out of that large bunch, 23 players bagged up with John Clyde Tan way up top with 318,900. That’s equivalent to 21 starting stacks claimed! Tan has now set the bar very high for the rest of the starting days.

Running in second position, though far from the leader, is Kenzo Mendoza with 203,100, Joseph Michael Avelino follows with 188,500, and to round out the top five are local pros William Ysmael with 185,200 and Michael De Leon with 165,100. Another notable player in the list is Metro 2M 2016 champion Mark Amparo. He closed the day with 87,000.

The P1,000,000 guaranteed MAIN EVENT continues at 3pm today with Day 1B up on the plate. Buyin is P2,200 with two re-entries allowed. Players start with a deep 15,000 in chips and opening blinds at 25-50. Get there at the starting gun and you’ll be sitting with 300 times the big blind. Blinds increase every 30 minutes. For players attempting for multiple stacks, keep in mind only the best stack advances. 

We’d like to remind everyone that registration stays open until the start of Level 8. From there, the freezeout stage begins. Players bag up at the end of Level 15.
