Metro Card Club Veteran Neil Arce is The APT Day 1 Chip Leader
January 30, 2009
The Asian Poker Tour, kicked of it’s first day (Day 1A) yesterday with 8 tables of the best players all over world. Several of our very own Metro veterans Kent del Rosario, Derek Hernandez, Triccia David, Wally Sombero, and Neil Arce, to name a few, all came to represent the Philippines in this prestigious event.
After over 13 hours of non-stop action, 19 players were left. None other than our very own Neil Arce, arguably the best poker player in the country today with WSOP, APPT, and APT money finishes, plus an FPT championship win, finished day 1A with the chip lead sitting on 85,800 in chips. Not so far behind is another veteran of the tables at The Metro, APPT final table finisher Derek Hernandez, who is 4th in chips with 52,500. Wally “the dream” Sombero is within striking distance at with 22,300 in chips.
Day 1B begins today and will end with roughly around the same number of players, making tomorrows’ day 2 an event to look forward to. Let’s give our support to Neil and the rest of them who are representing the country and of course our favorite card room, The Metro.
See you at the Tables!
