It took three hours of heads up action for the job to get done but Joseph Sia has done it! After a tough final battle that saw Euryd Rivera double up three times yet still stay behind, Sia captured the MSE Main Event title and the first place cash P860,000 to go with it.

The final hand saw Sia raise to 300k and Rivera call. At the flop , Rivera checked, Sia bet 300k, Rivera shoved, and a snap-call from Sia.

The turn and river did not improved Rivera and Sia took the title. Rivera earned P440,000 for his second place finish.

Despite having just doubled up, Euryd Rivera is having a hard time holding on to the chips especially with blinds quite high. Rivera won another pot that brought his stack to 3.8M but dropped back down in this hand below.

Sia raised to 250k, Rivera three-bet to 700k, and Sia called. On the flop , Rivera c-bet 550k and Sia called. On the turn, Rivera checked. Sia bet 1M, and won it with a quick fold from Rivera.

Sia took another 600k from Rivera on a pot that saw the board complete with Sia showing over Rivera’s .

It seems everytime Euryd Rivera goes up, Joseph Sia finds a way to grind him back down. Action in two big hands saw the first hand take off with a raise by Rivera to 250k. Sia called. On the flop , no bets. On the turn, still no bets. On the river, Sia bet 450k and Rivera called. Sia showed straight.

The next big hand, Sia raised to 250k and Rivera called. On the flop , Sia bet 250k and was called. On the turn, Sia sent out another 300k bet and this time Rivera switched up and raised to 900k. Sia called. On the river, Rivera took the lead with a 1M bat and after tanking, Sia called. Rivera had pair but was no good against Sia’s two pair.

On the turn, both players checked. Then on the river, Rivera bet 450k and Sia called. Rivera showed miss and was bested by Sia’s two pair.

The next winning hand, Sia raised to 200k and Rivera called. On the flop, Rivera check-called the 300k bet. On the turn, action was the same with another check-called 300k. Then on the river, no bets were fired and Sia won with pair over Rivera’s .

The chips have been moving back and forth with Euryd Rivera back in the game and evening up the score. Sia has just jumped out with the lead once again. With the board showing , Rivera checked, Sia bet 300k, Rivera raised to 800k, and Sia called. On the river, Rivera slid out one tower of pink chips totaling 1M sending Sia to the tank. He eventually matched the towers for a showdown. Rivera straight but Sia had better with straight.

Joseph Sia has taken the chip lead from Euryd Rivera. The hand that did it saw a completed board of with betting at every stage. The river saw the largest chunk go in with Sia sending out 700k and Rivera with the call. Sia showed and Rivera mucked. Rivera down to 4.6M while Sia climbed to over 7M.

Joseph Christopher Cionelo will not be making it to the final elliptic having just been downed by Euryd Rivera. We caught the action at the flop with a splash of chips already brewed in the middle. At the flop , Cionelo (sb) checked, bb checked, Rivera (utg) bet 100k. Back to Cionelo who check-raised to 225k which was called only by Rivera.

The turn saw Cionelo count out chips somewhere around 300k or more and as he slid them out, Rivera quickly announced all in. Cionelo snap-called for his tournament life.

The river completed the board and Cionelo fell in 11th place. We have now reached the final table.

4:15pm: Euryd Rivera loses two pots on the blinds position

Euryd Rivera holds the largest stack at his table which didn’t hurt his stack too much after losing two consecutive pots. The first one saw him min-raise to 60k on the big blind and small blind Joseroy Jeremias limp-called. On the flop , Jeremias checked, Rivera c-bet 70k, Jeremias raised to 200k, and a quick fold from Rivera.

The next hand Rivera limped on the sb spot, Bryan Santos on the bb raised to 67k, and Rivera called. On the flop , Rivera checked then folded to Santos’s large 190k bet. Rivera down to 1.5M which is still well above average stack.

Joseph Sia stopped the shoving machine Roque Lima in possibly one of the most brutal ways. Lima was on his fourth shove with the first one earning a double up and the other two uncalled. On this final one, he had  and Sia was behind with . The board had other plans as it ran for a full house to Sia. Seeing his aces cracked, Lima stormed out of the tournament area to let off steam and collect his winnings.

Prior to that hand, Sia also won a pot against chip leader David Erquiaga. Sia raised to 60k preflop, Erquiaga three-bet to 160k, Sia four-bet to 290k, and Erquiaga folded.

Richard Tolentino began the day above average stack but after taking a couple of hits, he is down to half. His first bout was against Vamerdino Magsakay, Magsakay raised to 55k preflop and Tolentino called on the small blind. At the flop , Tolentino check-called a 60k bet. Both checked the turn [9s} but on the river back to splashing the pot with Tolentino check-calling the 120k bet. Magsakay showed for trips on the river to win the pot.

Good morning! The METRO SUMMER EVENT 3M GUARANTEED is down to its Final Day with 17 players out of the 599 total entries gunning for the title and the first place purse worth P860,000.

Leading the race with the largest stack to boot is David Erquiaga with 2,266,500. He is nearly a million ahead of his closest challenger, Jessie Leonarez with 1,334,500, and a very far distance from shortest stacked Rodrigo Sequite wiho sits with 115,000. Players return at Level 25 with blinds at 12000-24000 ante 4000. Average stack is 704,000.
