FPT Champion Kent del Rosario – Rainy Days at the Metro Freeroll Champion
Kent del Rosario, one of the most loyal patrons of the Metro Card Club has added another feather to his poker hat by winning the Rainy Days Freeroll today at the Metro.
Outlasting 26 players in Day 2, which included champions Jeffrey Cruz and Mike Takayama, Del Rosario had once again wowed players by his professionalism and skill.
In a hand during heads-up against Paul Tolenada, Del Rosario got crippled when Tolenada caught a runner-runner straight, leaving Del Rosario with only about 200,000 chips against Tolenada’s million.
The tide of victory turned against Tolenada, when Del Rosario doubled up twice with A-2 and pocket 3s.
The winning hand for Del Rosario, with now a million in chips, was pockets 8s against a blind all-in call from Tolenada who tabled J-7. Del Rosario’s 8’s held for the championship.
Del Rosario won the 1st prize of Php310,000.
