Tired of the multi-rebuy/addon epidemic sweeping the local poker scene? For most true Poker aficionados, the true skill of the game can be found in the purest kind of poker tournament that can be played: The Freezout.

Hence, The METRO presents the METRO SEVENTY-FIVE. This tournament is a 2000+200 buy-in, P75,000 guaranteed prize pool, Freezout format game. Expect a diverse field, from your average rounder to the poker elite of the country, to come and play every Wednesday night and test their skills against each other. The structure is a skill-based deep stack structure that really weeds out luck, evident in the two previously held tournaments, where both 1st place winners were part of the Philippine contingent to the 2007 World Series of Poker. The Prize pool usually exceeds P100,000, making the game fiercely competitive and a true test of poker skill. Besides the cash prize, the winner gets immortalized by having his name framed on the wall of winners, plus he or she also gets an exclusive t-shirt designed only for winners of the METRO Seventy-Five tournament.

    The Metro 75 winner usually gets 35-40K based on the previous 4 tournaments with an average of 50-60 players. The pot has exceeded 100K everytime :)

    we will be updating the site with a feature of the last 4 winners this week. So far we’ve had 4 winners: Eric Mendoza, Renan Morales, Thotee Alano(hope it’s right), and Barb Galan.

    Eric Mendoza placed 2nd on the third tournament, almost winning his second metro75 in out of three times!

    The Roster of players who join that tourny is something to be reckoned with, with titles and cashes amounting to millions of pesos ;)
